Dunmanus Bay Marine Association was formed in 1995
to protect the waters of Dunmanus Bay from the threat of intensive aquaculture, and later,
 to create jobs for the Dunmanus Bay region and promote the Bay as the last unspoiled Bay in South West Ireland.

The DBMA committee, made up of members of the  local community, includes representatives of fishermen, farmers,
tourism interests, divers, sea anglers, whale watchers, community groups and holiday home owners.
